  • Autumn Programme: 4 October– 14 December 2024: Light & Shade – focus on Architectural features

We will offer public tours on specific days and times during the week, which will be bookable via this page and are free of charge.

POLITE NOTICE: Attendance for tours must be booked in advance. We regret that we cannot allow any visitors access to the building without advance booking. If you cannot find availability, please try again on another occasion.

Alongside standard tours we are programming creative activity tours which include half day workshop inspired by the season’s theme. There will be two a month advertised on the Events page of this website.

Our programme is in high demand so if you are no longer able to attend, please notify us as your place could be allocated to someone else.

Thank you for your patience and we look forward to welcoming you to Aga Khan Centre soon.

AKC Tours – Volunteer Tour Guides Needed

We are seeking volunteer tour guides to help facilitate our new seasonal Tours Programme.

Are you interested in working with us to welcome visitors to our building and gardens, through structured tours that will engage and inspire a broad audience?

Volunteering for the Aga Khan Centre is rewarding, sociable and fun – and it is a hugely valuable way to support our activities. We rely on our volunteers to conduct 45 minutes to an hour tour on specified days and times, as well as help stage other bespoke events throughout the year. All our programmes aim to raise greater awareness of the work of the three institutes at Aga Khan Centre and the wider Aga Khan Development Network.

What unites our volunteers is a passion for our unique building, Islamic Gardens, Aga Khan Development Network, Aga Khan University Institute for the Study of Muslim Civilizations, Aga Khan Foundation UK, and Institute of Ismaili Studies in the heart of the city of London, as well as a desire to work together to increase understanding and concern for the work we deliver. To help support your volunteer work with us, we will cover your travel and sustenance costs during your time at the centre.

Thank you for considering us as an organisation you wish to volunteer for. We warmly welcome you to apply by sending your expression of interest to the ‘contact us’ email address below.  We look forward to welcoming you to becoming an AKC Tour Guide soon.
